All Paragon Joinery staircases can be designed and manufactured in either solid French Oak, Beech, Pine or an exotic hardwood known as Tauari.

The staircases are all designed to suit each individual's requirements and can comprise of a double/single bull nosed base feature known as a Socle. We can then provide short straight flights, long straight flights, three or four tread quarter turn landings, flat single or double turn landings.

All quotations are supplied free of charge and are complete with a computer generated drawing which provides details regarding riser dimensions, tread depth dimensions and all other details required to form openings to suit the new staircase.

Handrail and spindles are supplied for the flights and landings together with any first or second floor gallery landing areas, designs range from the traditional turned spindle and newel to the more contemporary square or rectangular. It should be noted that when our handrails are constructed we do not use spacers to gain the correct gaps between the spindles, instead all the spindles are pre-drilled top and bottom for two dowels which then slot into the base rail and top rail. The centers are determined by the manufacturing machine and thus comply with the 100mm sphere rule (Part K of the Building Regulations). By constructing to this method we are able to provide a much more aesthetically pleasing finish to the staircases and landing handrails.

All of our staircase products are delivered to site, sanded and ready for finishing on site by separate contractor. We suggest the use of a high quality wood stain together with a good quality varnish over to provide the necessary protection. Due to the way in which our stairs are manufactured, the treads and risers are all solid and do not require covering with carpet.

With our design concept we also have no need to underline the staircase, as we do not use any form of wedges for the treads and risers, the underside is finished to a standard which promotes the underneath remaining visible. No construction lines are visible again providing an aesthetically pleasing finish.

The majority of our staircase designs also allow for the bottom section of the stairs and stringers to be curved and more elaborate. All staircases are ideally suit to be used as a major visual feature within any house or home.
